Boys' Day Out

When we went to Henderson a few weeks ago, Seth got to have a boys' day with Adam and my dad. Adam took them fishing for something other than the little baby fish that Seth and Dad normally catch. Adam is a very talented fisherman...he took them to his secret spot this day. I wouldn't be surprised if he blindfolded them until they got to the spot. Here is one of the fish that Seth caught! Definitely an improvement from the fish they usually get!

Ghouls and Goblins

Okay. I know I am late with the Halloween pictures, but seriously...where is November going?! Thanksgiving is just right around the corner! Crazy! Anywho, here are a couple pictures from our Halloween festivites. I will try to narrate as you look. :)

Eli went as a boxer to Maysville's fall festival. He won one of the best costumes! Again!

Seth and his dad constructed a new game for the fall festival...a frog launcher! They built it, Seth free-handed the pictures, I helped paint, and Stacy and Grandma made the frogs. It was a HIT!! I never knew kids had so much strength!! They usually sent the frogs flying into the wall or ceiling, but still lots of fun!

Seth, aka Granny Wolf, also enjoyed scaring the kids, as you see here!

The little man was a firefighter on Halloween. Here he is with Granny Jo, Seth's grandma.

This is me, the mummy, and Seth at the Bowen Family Halloween Party. Seth's mom had games for us "kids" to play this year...eating apples off a string, popping balloons, mummy wrapping, and a scavenger hunt. Between all the candy, food, and games, we had a very fun Halloween this year!

Happy Birthday to Luke!!

Seth and I made the trip to Henderson a couple weekends ago. While we were there, we got to celebrate Luke's 1st Birthday!! He is getting so big! He's starting to walk and he has such the funniest little personality! Here are a few pictures from the fabulous party...

**Luke with his mommy and daddy...notice the icing already on his mouth**

**Reading a birthday card from the proud Grandparents**

**Showing off his new waving skills**

**Luke and Aunt Neesie**

"I know I'm cute, but come on Jill...enough with the pictures."

**And finally, me and the baby brother. This is possibly the only picture we have taken together since either of us got married. He's not so much the baby boy anymore. :) **

Cakes, Cakes, and More Cakes!

Yes, I have recently attempted two more cakes. And I think they both came out pretty well. I made the pumpkin cake for Seth to take to his office for his co-workers to enjoy. He came home with an empty cake plate, so I assumed it was edible! :)

Seth and I both thought that the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle cake was the best we have made yet! And we had to decorate it by flashlight while the electricity was out one night! We made this one for Seth's brother, Chad, on his birthday.

We've been able to find almost all of our cake pans on ebay for almost half the price of what the stores charge. Any ideas for new cake pans we could try?

Campout!

I took this picture of Seth fishing on our camping trip last weekend. We had just gotten up ...the fog across the water with the sun coming up made for a pretty neat picture.

Christmas in October

As we were looking through the Sunday ads a couple weeks ago, Seth pointed out that the price of the Wii had dropped...much to his excitement! :) The next thing I know, Seth AND his two brothers are triple teaming me, trying to talk me into going to buy a Wii THAT day! After a couple of hours, they wore me down and I caved. Off to Target, I went. By Sunday afternoon, we had a new addition to the family....

It wasn't until later that evening that Christmas came. Seth's mom informed us that they had planned on getting us a Wii for Christmas! What?! So, she offered to pay for the Wii and let us keep it as an early Christmas gift! Woo-hoo!! What great in-laws! :) We have loved playing with it. We got Mario Kart and Big Game Hunter (or some kind of hunting game). I love it because I actually have a chance at beating Seth at some of these games! So, for those of you who have a Wii, any suggestions on games that we might enjoy??

The Cake Lady

When Seth and I were growing up, our moms were both known as "The Cake Lady." My mom made cakes with the cute Wilton cake pans all the time for any and all holidays...Easter, Halloween, Christmas. Come to find out, Seth's mom did the same. She made birthday cakes for all the kids in their family every year. However, both of our moms have been gladly out of the cake making business for quite a few years now. So the apron and cake pans have been passed to a new cake lady...and apparantly that is me.

I started out just making Seth a couple baseball birthday cakes. Not thinking it would turn into more cakes. Well, since then we've had a Tennessee football cake, Sesame Street cupcakes, a tractor cake, pumpkin cookies, and soon a Ninja Turtle cake! Our cakes are by no means perfect, but we enjoy maiking them and the family enjoys eating them! Here are a couple of pictures of the latest cakes Seth and I have attempted. (Yes, Seth is my trusty cake baking assistant!!)
