Well, the countdown is starting to get pretty serious now! 24 Days until little Miss Baylee's due date! We will be 37 Weeks along this Saturday. So, technically, she could be ready to come anytime! I am okay with her waiting another week or two, because my Dr. is going to be on vacation next week. Seth is guessing that Baylee will make her big debut on either October 8th or October 18th. October 28th may be more realistic, but I would be okay with the 18th!! Although, October 8th would also be cool because my birthday is May 8th and my dad's is July 8th! (And my parents' anniversary is August 8th!!)

We had our first weekly appointment this morning and everything still looked great!! Baylee's heartbeat is perfect and I am at 1 cm! Woo-hoo! Even though I've probably still got 2 or 3 more weeks before the big day, hearing 1 cm made us realize that we really are nearing the end. The suitcases got moved to the trunk of my car when we got home from the appointment....just in case! :)

So, other than waiting on Baylee to arrive...what have the Bowens been doing lately? Well...Seth has started his latest DIY project. A few months ago he bought a couple of brown end tables off of craigs list. He was wanting to stain them black and make a baseball design on the top out of bottlecaps. Well, he has spent many hours stripping the tables, sanding, cleaning, re-staining, designing... It has been a much more in-depth project than we realized it would be...and I don't think he will ever do it again, but I also think the tables are gonna be pretty cool when he gets them finished. He has made himself a makeshift work table on our back porch to do the work since we don't have a garage.

My lastest creation is not quite so in-depth. This past Saturday for breakfast we had rainbow pancakes! (Thank you Pinterest for the idea!) As if pancakes were not already fun to eat, RAINBOW pancakes are TOTALLY fun to eat! :) What kid wouldn't love those?!

Other than that, we are just patiently waiting on our little pumpkin to arrive. (or "puntkin" as Myles says) And please ignore how dreadfully tired I look in this picture...I was in need of a nap when we took it. :)

Closing in on the Finish Line

I don't have any exciting pictures for today's blog entry. Booo. I know. I do have some pictures of our nursery...but they are on a different computer. So, maybe I can post those this weekend.

For now, I just wanted to give a quick update. Baylee and I had a doctor's appointment yesterday. Everything is still going just exactly how it should be! Baylee's heartbeat was perfect. My size and blood pressure all looked good. Baylee has been in the head down position for my last three appointments, so that is very good! Hopefully she will stay that way. As Dr. R was inspecting the size of my belly, she said, "I don't think you're going to have a BIG baby. And I don't think you're going to have a tiny baby. She's going to be just perfectly normal!" I am totally good with "perfectly normal" !!!

I will be 35 Weeks on Saturday, so we are pretty much in the home stretch. We have the nursery ready, the hospital bags packed, the car seat is installed...I even have some meals stored in the freezer for when we come home. So, I guess we are as ready as we can be!!

I promise...pictures will come soon!!

Less than 8 Weeks!!!

So, I am already getting way behind and the baby isn't even here yet!! We have now passed the 32 Week mark! Woo-hoo! We have less than 8 weeks until our due date! That is not very long at all!! We have had two baby showers, and have one more to go. Right now, Seth says our house looks like Babies 'R Us exploded. We are slowly getting things organized, washed, and put away. Baby shower pictures will have to come later...I still haven't downloaded them from my camera.

I had a doctor's appointment this morning. Miss Baylee Kate still seems to be doing just fine! We pray that she continues to do just as well here at the end of the pregnancy as she has done for the previous 7 months.

While we were in Henderson for our family baby shower last weekend, Seth and I made some maternity pictures. For now, you will just have to be entertained with these! :) Mre pictures of showers and Baylee's room to come!

This one was Seth's idea...he's high-tailin' it out of Dodge before the baby comes and he actually has to change a diaper! (The watermelon pictures were also his idea. Such as creative boy he is!)

Latest and Greatest

I realized recently that I have not baked/decorated any cakes or cupcakes in quite a while. Good thing Seth volunteered me to make a birthday cake for Bryan this past weekend! :) Bryan was the lucky recipient of this Spiderman cake:

Seth thought this one was our best yet. I'm not too sure about that...but it did turn out pretty decently. On a side note, do you know what happens when the women in the family let the men take care of lighting the candles, carrying the cake to the b-day boy, take the pictures....and so on? Well....The birthday boy is the victim of the sudden strike of two toddlers who REALLY wanted some icing. :) Can't you see them inching their way closer to the cake? Luckily, Myles only made it out with a few fingers full of icing and the cake didn't splatter on the ground.

Also, if you are keeping up with my fatness these days...here's a 29 week picture! I still feel really good most days...other than these pesky hiccups that Baylee seems to get All.The.Time. Oh well...if that's the worst I have to bother me, I am doing great!

So, we are officially in the THIRD trimester! Can you believe it?! I sure can't. It seems like the past six months have flown by. The picture above is at 28 weeks...but tomorrow we will be 29 weeks along! Another week and I'll start counting down the weeks instead of counting up! :)

We had a check-up this week and everything went just perfectly. My doctor was very pleased with our progress! So, we're just cruisin' along! Most days I still feel pretty good. However, more restless nights and tired days are slowly finding their way into my week.

On a separate note, Seth and I celebrated our 3rd anniversary last week. :) It also doesn't seem like three years since we got married! I guess it's true that time flies when you're having fun!

26 Weeks and 4 Days

I guess it's time for another baby update. I am steadily growing these days. Up until now, I could still wear a lot of my pre-pregnancy shirts. However, that is starting to change.

It is hard to believe that the third trimester is just around the corner! I will admit, Baylee's rapidly approaching due date is a little nervewracking. But mostly I am soo excited that she will be here soon!!

I still feel pretty good most days. I am starting to have more "growing pains" and a little trouble sleeping some nights. But so far it's nothing that I can't deal with. Baylee has started to pack some stronger kicks and punches...but I love it! Anytime I can feel her moving, I know she is okay...so, I am not going to complain about that at all!

The nursery is coming along nicely. We are still waiting on some of our furniture to come in. Once it does, I will definitely post some more pictures!

A Home of Their Own

Since Adam and Ashley got married a little over 4 years ago (I think), they have lived in a small rental house. Well, this summer they made their first big purchase together...a new home to call their own!! Well, not new, but new to them...and it is a beautiful house!!

We went to Henderson a few weeks ago to help them move. Well...Seth helped them move. I was very limited in what I could do...anytime I tried to do anything, I was scolded by my father. :) So, I took some pictures of the day since I couldn't do much else in the way of moving things.

With all the stuff they moved, they really only had one issue....the refrigerator. It took all five of them to get it off the truck and up the stairs. Then....

Would you believe it wouldn't fit through the doors?! Can you see the frustration on Adam's face? They ended up having to take the doors off the refrigerator, but they did finally get it in and working! Whew! I was worn out just watching them!

And can I take just a moment to brag on my wonderful husband? He was such a trooper. He moved boxes and furniture and trucks and trailers...he cleaned baseboards, vacuumed rooms, dusted fans, mopped floors. He did anything and everything he could to help...such a good man! :) (However, those cleaning talents did seem to disappear the second we got back into Huntsville.)

To me, the best part of their new house is the view out the back door.....

We also celebrated my dad's 50th birthday while we were there. You are never too old for a good toy!! We are trying to help him build up his collection before Baylee gets here! :)
